2016 quarterback Joshua Jackson visited Virginia Tech over the weekend. After his visit, he wasted no time setting his decision date: this coming Thursday.

When a player visits a school and then immediately sets an announcement date within the next week, it’s a pretty good sign that he’s going to commit to the school he just visited. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if Jackson has already silently committed to Scot Loeffler, but he just wants to wait until Thursday to make an official announcement.

Assuming Jackson announces for the Hokies, what kind of player is Virginia Tech getting? The 247 and Rivals rankings have him as a middle of the road recruit…
