The “TSL Pass Recruiting Report” will be a bi-weekly feature catching you up with the latest news and numbers on Virginia Tech football’s class of 2016.

Here are some of the recent news/notes related to class of 2016 football recruiting you may have missed since our most recent TSL Pass Recruiting Report on March 23.

– Virginia Tech scored three verbal commitments in the past two weeks, gaining an outside linebacker (Victor Greene), defensive tackle (Clay Dean), and an offensive lineman (Thomas Jarrett Hopple). These are Tech’s first commitments at these respective positions in this class. All three players hail from the state of Virginia. The Hokies now have 10 commitments overall in this class, including five in-state prospects.

– Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) 5-star cornerback Levonta Taylor will announce his commitment at 6 pm this evening. Florida State is the favorite to land Taylor, who did not include Virginia Tech in his list of finalists.

– Virginia Tech offered two juniors from the state of Georgia within the past few weeks. On March 23, 4-star defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson tweeted the news that he had been offered by the Hokies (click here for the tweet). Jackson is a 6’3″, 285-pound defensive lineman out of Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. In addition to Virginia Tech, he holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State, LSU, Oregon, ND, USC and Tennessee.

This week, Tech extended an offer to Elbert County (Elberton, GA) athlete Mecole Hardman, a speedy 5’11”, 170-pound prospect. Hardman, who is also a 4-star recruit per 247Sports, is considering offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Missouri, Notre Dame and now Virginia Tech, among others.
