Jahque Alleyne is a natural free safety, though he could also play other positions in the secondary.

Jahque Alleyne
Height: 6-1
Weight: 180
Rivals: 4-stars, #23 safety overall, #14 player in VA
247: 3-stars, #70 safety overall, #33 player in VA
ESPN: 3-stars, #42 safety overall, #21 player in VA

The rankings for Jahque Alleyne are all over the map. Rivals ranks him as a 4-star recruit and the #14 player in the state. 247Sports has him all the way down at #33 in the state. ESPN ranks him in between at #21.

To me, Alleyne is one of the many scores of recruits who could be classified as a lower level 4-star recruit or an upper level 3-star recruit. As we’ve discussed many times, there really isn’t much of a difference between many 3-stars and most 4-stars. He’s a good prospect either way, and whether he’s rated as one of the lower 4-stars or better 3-stars doesn’t really matter in the long run, does it?

Alleyne is a versatile defensive back who could end up at several different positions, though I believe his likely long-term position is free safety. Some of that will depend on how his body responds to college strength and conditioning, as well as a closer evaluation of his talents once the coaching staff sees him against other college players.

I certainly wouldn’t hate it if Tech decided to use Alleyne
