7 Days Until Spring Practice: Running Backs

This afternoon we ran a poll on TSL asking our users to pick VT’s leading rusher for the 2015 season.  As of right now, 80% of voters are picking either rising senior J.C. Coleman or rising r-junior Trey Edmunds to lead the team in rushing yards in 2015.  That makes sense, especially considering the various situations of the other running backs on the team.

For what seems like the umpteenth year in a row, Virginia Tech enters the spring with a lot of bodies at tailback, but plenty of question marks.  I see enough positives to make me feel optimistic, but I can also see things not going well, and all of us being very frustrated with the running back situation yet again at the end of September.  Sure, much of that depends on offensive line play, but much of it depends on the running backs themselves as well.
I have my thoughts on each of Tech’s backs, which I’ll share below…
