Class of 2015 recruits DuWayne Johnson, Eric Whitehead and Adonis Williamson remain solid in their commitments to Virginia Tech despite the news that assistant coach Aaron Moorehead is leaving Blacksburg for Texas A&M.
Moorehead served as primary recruiter for all three prospects while with the Hokies.
“I hate to see Coach Moorehead go. He did a great job recruiting me, but it will not affect me going to Tech,” texted Johnson, a senior cornerback out of H.D. Woodson High School (Washington, D.C.). “I will still sign [with the Hokies] on Signing Day.”
“Of course I’m a Hokie,” texted Whitehead, a defensive tackle prospect out of Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Williamson, a cornerback recruit who is Whitehead’s teammate and classmate at Arsenal Tech, wrote in a Twitter direct message: “Yes I’m staying with VT.”
Johnson, Whitehead, Williamson and 13 other prospects are committed to sign with Virginia Tech on February 4, which is National Signing Day. Seven more prospects are expected to begin classes tomorrow as mid-year enrollees.
