Virginia Tech recruited Kevin Bronson for a long time, but they didn’t extend a scholarship offer until late in the process. Let’s hope that he turns out like a couple of other defensive linemen from Delray Beach who received late offers from the Hokies: Luther Maddy and Dadi Nicolas.
I’ve heard that Charley Wiles views Kevin Bronson as a defensive tackle all the way, and I’m in agreement. He is already 258, and he’s got a big frame. He’s very similar to Nigel Williams physically and athletically at the same stage. Williams was listed at 6-3, 260 coming out of Benedictine High School, and he has been a defensive tackle at Tech since he first arrived in 2012.
Yesterday we went over the offer list of Ricky Walker. Though Bronson had somewhat of a strange recruitment, he picked Tech over South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Nebraska at the end, and he held offers from other schools such as Miami, Florida, Arkansas, Mississippi State and others during various points of his recruitment. The Hokies signed a pair of defensive tackles in this class that a lot of major schools wanted.
