Vinny Mihota committed to Virginia Tech during the Spring Game … in 2012. He knew from the beginning that Tech was the school for him, despite the fact that his older brother Anthony used to be the starting center for in-state rival UVA. The Tech coaches talk all the time about what it says about the program when they can get the brothers of former Tech players. This year they one-upped themselves, as they signed the brothers of two former UVA players (Mihota and Ricky Walker).

Mihota only played in a few games as a senior because of a broken foot. Nevertheless, Alabama came in with an offer, and I also heard that Stanford offered as well (which would make sense; Mihota is an excellent student). Despite those impressive offers, he never wavered from his verbal commitment to the Hokies.

Quickness: Being quick off the ball is half the battle. In his highlight film, Mihota wins the majority of his battles simply by being quicker off the ball than the opposing offensive lineman. Sometimes he is already in the backfield before the offensive
