Lots of Virginians in the ESPN Top 300

Even though Signing Day for the 2014 class isn’t even here yet, it’s never too early to take a look at the 2015 class. The Tech coaching staff is already recruiting heavily for 2015, and a lot of offers have already gone out.

ESPN released their Top 300 football recruits for the class of 2015, and a whopping 15 Virginians made the list. There isn’t quite as much firepower at the very top of the rankings, such as 2014, but there appears to be a lot of quality depth in 2015.  (At this point, our 2015 database is not complete.  We hope to have it filled out sometime next week.)

Tim Settle


#6 Tim Settle , DT, 6-3, 308, Stonewall Jackson High, Manassas

Rated the #2 DT in America, Settle was long considered to be a UVA lean. However, he visited Tech twice during the regular season and now the Hokies are high on his list as well. He also has offers from all the major out-of-state programs. If I were a betting man, I think Settle will end up out-of-state. He also has some work to do on his grades.

#40 Jahvoni Simmons, LB, 6-2, 225, Ocean Lakes High, Virginia Beach

Simmons is rated the #1 inside linebacker recruit in the country by ESPN. He has solid offer list, but he didn’t list Virginia Tech in his top four in the latest article that I read. He grew up a Clemson fan, though he doesn’t hold an offer from the Tigers currently.
