After making a handful of unofficial visits this past offseason, Mountain View (Stafford, VA) standout wide receiver/defensive back DaeSean Hamilton has yet to visit any schools this fall. That will change this weekend.
“I’m going to Wake Forest this weekend,” said Hamilton, who adds that this will be an official visit.
And next week, the 6’1″, 185-pound senior tentatively plans to be in Blacksburg.
“I’m thinking I’m going to take a trip [to Virginia Tech] next Thursday for the Florida State game,” said Hamilton, who spoke with Virginia Tech coaches over the phone last night. This visit would be unofficial.
Hamilton considered taking an official visit to the University of Virginia the weekend of October 20-21, but ultimately he did not make the trek. Both parties remain interested, and a return to trip to Charlottesville (the Mountain View standout traveled to UVa earlier this year) could still happen.
“I talked to [Virginia offensive coordinator Bill] Lazor last week. It was a good conversation,” Hamilton said. “We caught up. He said I am still on their board and they still want me to come for a visit.”
If there is a clear leader in this race, Hamilton isn’t giving any hints as to which school it may be. Currently, there are six main schools being considered.
“There is UVa and Virginia Tech, Duke, Illinois, Wake Forest, and Penn State,” Hamilton replied when asked what schools are still on his list. He has offers from all six programs.
Hamilton didn’t offer many specifics with in terms of what factors are most important to him in finding the right college. The “gut feeling” he gets on upcoming visits will likely make the difference.
