Northgate (Newnan, GA) senior cornerback/wide receiver Brandon Facyson recalls his first visit to Virginia Tech being the summer before his junior year. He had already scored an offer from Tech, which was the first school to do so, and went in and performed well at a Hokies one-day camp. Facyson impressed the Tech coaches with his play that day, but Virginia Tech made a lasting impression on him as well.
This past July, the 6’2″, 190-pound Facyson attended but did not participate in Tech’s second one-day camp of the year. This time, he left as the newest member of Virginia Tech’s class of 2013. Facyson was back in Blacksburg this past Sunday through Tuesday on an official visit, returning to Tech for the first time as a commitment.
CATCHING UP WITH BRANDON FACYSON
TechSideline: Before we get into other topics, would you update your senior season? I saw your team lost in the season opener last week, 9-7. Is the team ready to bounce back?
BRANDON FACYSON: We’re looking pretty solid. We’ve had a couple of injuries that forced us out of our comfort zone. We had to get away from the Wing T we usually run and go to a spread zone, which wasn’t a problem for me, but I sprained my ankle pretty bad. I had to miss last week’s game. I’m trying to nurse it back up to get to where I will be playing this Friday. We’ll play it by ear. We’ll get through it. Our team will be just fine.
TSL: How serious is the injury?
BRANDON FACYSON: I can walk and run, but it’s kind of a nagging injury.
