Chancellor (Fredericksburg, VA) offensive tackle Steven Moss entered his junior season having already sold 13 college football programs on his talents. The 6’5″, 275-pound prospect boasts 13 scholarship offers, including Boston College, Clemson, East Carolina, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, N.C. State, Old Dominion, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
“[Recruiting] is just really exciting, but basically I’m sitting back and letting all the offers come in,” said Moss, who is also drawing serious interest from Alabama and Michigan, among others. “I’ll probably narrow my list in the spring.”
The standout offensive line recruit has already seen Clemson, Maryland, South Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia. He denied having a favorite or group of favorites at this point in the process. This fall, Moss will attend football games at Virginia and Virginia Tech. He adds that he will “probably” go to South Carolina, and more schools could be on the schedule as well.
“I’m going to try to make it to a lot of the schools that have offered,” Moss said.
Moss was specifically asked for his impressions of the two in-state ACC programs. He discussed UVa and Tech, but he made it clear that leaving the state is very much an option.
“I like that UVa is an on-the-rise program,” Moss said. “I like Mike London. He’s a good coach.
“With Virginia Tech, I like the history. They are going to win, and they make it known that they are going to win.”
After an offseason of improving his strength and footwork, Moss, who mans the right offensive tackle spot, helped the Chargers to a 25-6 win over Riverbend last week. Chancellor often runs behind the promising lineman, who relishes the challenge.
