Asked for the latest on his recruitment, Mountain View (Stafford, VA) rising senior DaeSean Hamilton said: “I haven’t traveled anywhere [this summer]. I’ve been keeping in touch with coaches, planning visits with them, and learning more and more about schools that have offered me.”
On the visit front, things are about to pick up for the 6’1″, 185-pound wide receiver/defensive back.
“I’m planning visits with West Virginia, Wake Forest, Duke and Illinois,” said Hamilton, who intends to make all of these trips within the next three weeks.
Hamilton has collected offers from all four of the schools he intends to see in July. East Carolina, Miami, Michigan State, Temple, Virginia and Virginia Tech are among the other schools to have offered as well. The versatile athlete hopes to narrow the field soon.
“I’ll probably narrow my list by next month,” he said. “I haven’t been able to get it down quite yet. I’ll probably narrow it down to a top five or six.”
A summer commitment isn’t out of the question. Right now, though, Hamilton feels he may need to take some official visits, which he can begin to make in September.
“Right now I’m thinking I want to take official visits,” Hamilton said. “But it depends on my communications with the coaches. Right now, I’m thinking I’ll take a few official visits.”
Hamilton claims no favorites at this point. If he decides to stay in the state, he remains open to both Virginia and Virginia Tech.
“They both are still in consideration,” Hamilton said of the Cavaliers and Hokies.
