As a first year starter at quarterback, Logan Thomas will be fortunate to
have a very experienced group of juniors and seniors surrounding him at wide
receiver. The Hokies have a talented and deep group of wideouts, and that
should be one of the strengths of the team this season.

Please note that these heights and weights haven’t been updated by Virginia
Tech since the spring. We expect new heights and weights to be released when the
team reports for practice next week.

Receivers Depth Chart
Name Ht. Wt. Yr.
Jarrett Boykin 6-2 219 Sr.
Danny Coale 6-0 196 r-Sr.
Marcus Davis 6-4 231 r-Jr.
Dyrell Roberts 6-2 185 Sr.
D.J. Coles 6-3 225 Jr.
E.L. Smiling 6-3 194 r-Fr.

The Hokies will likely use five players at wide receiver this season, and E.L.
Smiling showed in the spring that he could possibly be ready for a minor role if

Boykin and Coale

Danny Coale has appeared in 41 games during his Virginia Tech career, and he
has started 40 of them. Jarrett Boykin has 32 starts in 41 games. Both players
have proven to be talented and durable over the course of their careers. They
are also amongst the most prolific receivers in Virginia Tech history.
