The past week has been a whirlwind on the recruiting front. Tech’s camp on
Saturday resulted in more scholarships being offered and more commitments being
gained. The Hokies are up to 20 verbals in the 2012 class.

That’s a lot, for this time of year. In fact, there have been past seasons
when the Hokies didn’t sign 20 players in February, much less have 20
commitments in the middle of July. 2010 (18 recruits), 2006 (19) and 2004 (16)
were all smaller classes than the current class, and we’ve still got six and a
half months until Signing Day.

Obviously the Hokies aren’t done yet, but the question is how many recruits
will they take, and at what positions? As usual, the numbers are fluid. I think
Tech has a legit shot at about 15 guys remaining on their board.
