Auburn has the flashy Cam Newton, but Stanford has the efficient Andrew Luck
and very physical line play on both sides of the ball. In our first semifinal
battle of the day, Auburn was upset on their own field by Stanford in triple
overtime, 44-38.

Nate Whitaker tied the game for Stanford with a 43 yard field goal with just
over five minutes in regulation, and these teams raged a war in overtime for the
right to play for the National Championship. Things went back and forth early in
overtime, and it looked
