Anson Coach Updates The Latest On Anthony

5-star linebacker Stephone Anthony has now taken three official visits and has one more remaining before he makes his college choice. Anson (Wadesboro, N.C.) head coach Luke Hyatt spoke with the prized prospect earlier in the day. He relayed how Anthony felt about the Virginia Tech official visit that occurred this past weekend.

“He enjoyed the trip to Virginia Tech,” Hyatt said. “He is slated to go to North Carolina this weekend. He had nothing but good things to say about Virginia Tech. He spent some time with Barquell Rivers, who was one of our kids as well. He had a good time. The good thing with those guys is that there is no undo pressure on him. No announcement date has been set, but Coach Hyatt expects the announcement to come on Signing Day. Anthony will choose among Clemson, Florida, North Carolina and Virginia Tech. This week, Anthony will host Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney on an in-home visit. UNC and VT assistants are also scheduled to be in-home.

Is he getting closer to a decision?

“I think he’s getting close,” Hyatt said. “I won’t be shocked wherever he goes.”

Lockhart’s Recruitment Stays Hot

The offers keep coming for West Boca Raton (Boca Raton, FL) wide receiver Robert Lockhart, who headlines Virginia Tech’s list of official visitors for this coming weekend. Tech officially offered the 6-2, 175-pound wide receiver a week-and-a-half ago and two more schools have since followed suit.
