NBAPA Top 100 Report: Dai-Jon Parker

In seeing Dai-Jon Parker live in action for the first time last week during the NBAPA Top 100 Camp, I was initially struck by how fluid and athletic he is. The 6-3, 185-pound Milton (Alpharetta, GA) rising senior guard should be a tough match-up for opposing guards – point guard or shooting guard – on the next level.

Not only does Parker seem naturally suited to be an effective defender, but he takes pride in his defense as well.

“First off, I take defense very seriously,” said Parker, who is called an “unselfish player” by Milton head coach David Boyd. “That’s the top thing in my mind. On my team, I try to preach to my team that defense is the way. After that, everything falls into place with the fast break and everything. I like to slash to the basket. I’m a scorer. I get to the basket and get points and I get my teammates involved.”

In his junior season, Parker averaged 14 points, 4.5 assists and four rebounds per game while helping Milton to a Class 5A state championship title. He averaged 6.5 points per game in six games at the NBAPA Top 100 Camp. He showed well on defense and showed an ability to rebound effectively from the guard position.
