Josh Furman ‘s recruiting card
Virginia Tech will be the second official visit Old Mill (Millersville, MD) star senior Josh Furman makes, and he’s going to make it this weekend. The 6-2, 195-pound running back/defensive back visited Virginia Tech earlier this year, so what will he be looking for the second time around?
“I’m just looking for a good game and a good atmosphere,” said Furman, who’ll watch Tech take on Boston College on Saturday. He’ll be accompanied on the trip by his father and a coach from Old Mill.
Furman’s first official visit was last month to Michigan. While he could take five official visits in total, Furman is undecided if more than two may be needed.
“I’m not sure right now,” he said.
There is no set list of finalists at this point, though four programs have moved to the forefront in this race. Michigan and Virginia Tech are certainly there, joining another ACC program and a Big East program.
“I’m still in contact with Miami,” said Furman, who has not yet received an official offer from the Hurricanes. “Them and West Virginia [and Michigan and Virginia Tech] are like the main four right now,” said Furman, who did not name a single favorite.
Stay tuned, as TechSideline.com will follow up with Furman following the official visit to Tech. Prior to this weekend, the Old Mill star will look to help his current team to its fifth win of the year. Led by Furman, who rushed for 182 yards and two scores in last week’s win, Old Mill is off to a 4-1 start to the 2009 season.
