According to ESPN.com earlier today, First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) safety/linebacker Nick Dew indicated that he would commit to Virginia Tech. He followed through, confirming his decision to TSL this evening.
“I committed to VT today,” Dew wrote in a text message this evening. He committed while making a visit to Blacksburg along with his mother.
The 6-2, 195-pound senior, a potential Rover prospect for Virginia Tech, has long favored the Hokies. He grew up following Tech and has been leaning towards the Hokies throughout his recruitment.
One of the top senior prospects in the state of Virginia, Dew, who has helped First Colonial to a 4-1 record this year, is ranked 13th in TechSideline.com’s PreSeason Top 30. He chose Tech over offers from East Carolina, Kentucky, Maryland, Purdue, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia.
Stay tuned tomorrow for more on Dew, who is Tech’s 18th commitment of the 2010 recruiting class.
