Imposing wide receiver prospect Brandon Coleman is holding steady with 13 official scholarship offers as he heads into the summer. The 6-6, 200-pound Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) star, a second-team all-WCAC selection last season as a junior, is set to begin a round of unofficial visits.
Coleman’s late spring/summer visit schedule begins this Saturday, when he’ll attend UVa’s “Future Wahoo Day.” He has also scheduled visits to Rutgers (June 18th), Maryland (June 20th) and U-Conn (June 21st).
“I also want to visit Wake Forest and [Virginia] Tech again,” he said. He attended Virginia Tech’s Spring Game.
“My plans are to continue to try and build relationships with my position coach, recruiting coach as well as the head coach at each school. I plan to narrow my list down by the end of summer, right before the season.”
Each of the aforementioned programs has officially offered Coleman, who also boasts offers from Boston College, Notre Dame and Stanford, among others. A commitment won’t come soon for the talented athlete, who is eyeing a decision near Signing Day.
“There are no favorites yet,” said Coleman.
A standout in basketball as well, Coleman will not play the AAU circuit to focus more on the gridiron. He is looking to improve upon a junior season in which he hauled in 20 receptions for 546 yards and four touchdowns.
“My focus is on my football season coming up, then this recruiting process,” Coleman said.
