Alabama will face Virginia Tech with a relatively inexperienced offensive
line. The Crimson Tide lost All-American left tackle Andre Smith, a first round
draft pick. Also gone is their outstanding center, Antoine Caldwell, a third
round pick of the Houston Texans.

Besides Smith and Caldwell, Alabama also lost starting guard Marlon Davis.
Throw in the loss of tight ends Nick Walker and Travis McCall, and the Tide will
look much different in the trenches in 2009.
