2008 Hokie Football Season Preview: Defensive Backs

Virginia Tech lost Brandon Flowers to the Kansas City Chiefs, as well as
steady starting free safety D.J. Parker. Despite those losses, there’s nothing
to suggest that Virginia Tech’s secondary won’t be very good in 2008, as it
usually is. The Hokies have two players this year that could be very high picks
in the 2009 NFL Draft, as well as some younger talent to fill out the depth
chart.

Here is a look at what the depth chart could look like heading into the start
of practice, which begins on August 4. This depth chart is not official, it’s
merely our best guess.

This year we’ll have the excitement of seeing two outstanding players in
Chancellor and Harris, as well the development of Tech’s next group of defensive
back stars.
