Telvion Clark has had an impressive month of June, earning scholarship offers from North Carolina, Penn State and Virginia Tech after attending each school’s camp. The 6-1, 205-pound Granby (Norfolk, VA) linebacker does not plan to take his recruitment much farther, though, and could have a decision in the very near future.
“My decision is probably going to come sooner rather than later,” Clark said. “I’m going to try to have it made within the next few days. Tomorrow is a possibility.”
Clark attended Virginia Tech’s camp on June 7th and had an excellent experience. Shortly after the camp, he said, “I love Tech. It has a great environment and great people. I know a few guys who go there already and I know a few guys going in there from the class of 2008.”
Clark enjoyed his trips to Penn State and UNC as well. The Hokies, Nittany Lions and Tar Heels are the three finalists.
“Penn State was pretty good,” Clark said. “It was fun. They have a big campus and a pretty good facility.
“UNC was okay. It was pretty good. UNC has a beautiful campus. Of course, [new Granby Head] Coach [Curt] Brown went there and then he went to the Eagles. It worked out well for him.”
This evening, Clark plans to talk to his family and high school coaches in order to try and come up with a decision. He discussed what the primary factors will be.
“Obviously, graduation rate is big, but also I’ll look at what I think a program can do for me in terms of growing and developing and what kind of exposure I could get,” Clark said.
Stay tuned, as we’ll check in with Telvion tomorrow for more on his impending decision. One of the top defensive prospects in the state, he tallied over 150 tackles last season as a junior.
