According to Hermitage (Richmond, VA) head coach Patrick Kane, 6-2, 210-pound quarterback Joseph “Ju-Ju” Clayton is expected to make his college choice today.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch all-metro Player of the Year in 2007, Clayton will be the ninth Hermitage player in six years to sign with a Division 1 program. According to Kane, the Panthers star signal caller will commit to Virginia Tech.

“Ju-Ju Clayton, quarterback of Hermitage High School, will commit to Virginia Tech today,” Kane wrote in an e-mail early this afternoon. “He will join former Hermitage teammate Alonzo Tweedy at Virginia Tech.”

In his senior season, Clayton threw for over 2,100 yards and scored a total of 27 touchdowns. A dual-threat from the quarterback position, he threw for 22 touchdowns and rushed for five scores in leading the Panthers to a Division 6, Central Region Championship.
