More than a week after an excellent official visit experience at Virginia Tech, St. Anthony’s (Jersey City, N.J.) guard Tyshawn Taylor has yet to make a verbal commitment to any school. The 6-3, 165-pound senior remains high on the Hokies according to St. Anthony’s head coach Bob Hurley, Sr., but a college decision may not come soon.
“I know we tried to pin him down to see if he knew enough to make a decision,” Hurley said. “He likes everything about Virginia Tech, but he needs to compare it to something. His process is going on. I think things could be clearer after his next visit.”
Taylor reportedly was supposed to visit Marquette last weekend, but that official visit is now set for this coming weekend. Official trips to Georgia Tech and Kansas could also be in the works, although Hurley is not ruling out a decision after this weekend.
Virginia Tech continues to top the list according to Coach Hurley.
“I don’t think anything has changed there,” Hurley said.
One of the top remaining uncommitted guards in the country, Taylor is ranked the #104 overall prospect in the country by Rivals.com. He is rated a 3-star recruit by Rivals and Scout. A versatile performer, he has the ability to play either guard position in college but likely would start out at the point.
Stay tuned for more next week on Taylor’s recruitment.
