6-1, 175-pound defensive back Eddie Whitley has narrowed his list of schools to N.C. State and Virginia Tech. The Matthews (N.C.) star, one of three top rising senior defensive back recruits out of Butler High School, intends to announce his college intentions in the very near future.

“You’ll probably hear my decision next week,” Whitley said.

“I’m just going to tell the coaches. I’m not sure which day it will be. It depends on how things go. Whatever day I feel like doing it, I’ll do it.”

Last month, Whitley made visits to both of his favorites. First was a trip to Virginia Tech for the June 9th camp. He then visited N.C. State for camp later in the month.
