Though he also has an official offer from the University of Maryland, Halifax County (South Boston, VA) star Allen Stephens lists Virginia Tech and West Virginia as his clear two favorites. The 6-1, 240-pound linebacker recruit recently visited West Virginia and will travel to Blacksburg next month.
Stephens attended a camp/prospect day at West Virginia.
“It was pretty long,” Stephens said of his stay in Morgantown. “I stayed for two days. It was hot while I was there. I worked out with the rest of the players at my position. I got to meet some of the players like Pat White and Steve Slaton. They were cool.”

Virginia Tech will get the next chance to impress. Stephens is already set to head to Blacksburg on July 14th for Virginia Tech’s second senior camp. It will be an important experience.
“This will be my first time there,” Stephens said of next month’s visit to Virginia Tech. “I want to check out the campus and see what it’s like.”

Stephens will be accompanied by teammate Rodale Pippen, a 6-0, 185-pound rising senior. Pippen is the quarterback for Halifax and may play defensive back in 2007 according to Stephens. Pippen will likely get a look as an athlete by Virginia Tech.
5-11, 180-pound wide receiver Patrick Terry is all set to go to Virginia Tech. The 2007 signee will arrive in Blacksburg on Saturday.
