Montour (McKees Rocks, PA) football star Christian Wilson , one of the most highly recruited players so far in the 2008 class, has tallied close to 40 Division 1A scholarship offers. The 6-3, 235-pound prospect recently concluded a weekend tour of Virginia Tech, UNC, N.C. State and Wake Forest. He took time to discuss his visit experiences and which schools may stand out in this early going.
In total, Wilson has visited about 20 of the programs that have offered.
“A couple were just good visits,” Wilson replied when asked if any visits had stood out above the others. “Virginia Tech was a good one. Michigan was good. Wake Forest was a good one. In addition to the visits this past weekend as well as the visit to Michigan, Wilson has also taken unofficial visits to Maryland, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Tennessee and Virginia, among others.
Of Virginia, Wilson said, “That was a nice school. I know it’s hard to get into that school as a student because of the academics. The stadium there was real nice. I know they are a young team and my chances to play could be high.”
