Chalk up another four-star prospect for Virginia Tech Head Coach Seth Greenberg. Greenberg has added yet another top talent to his already impressive 2007 recruiting class, as 6-4, 185-pound guard/forward Dorenzo Hudson has committed to the Hokies.

Hudson came to a decision following official visits to Virginia Tech and Georgia, respectively.

“He’s going to Virginia Tech,” Hargrave Head Coach Kevin Keatts said of Hudson. “I think he really felt comfortable with the situation there. He saw an opportunity to come in and play. Jeff Allen, who is one of his teammates here, is going there. His cousin is committed there. I think those were all factors.”

Hudson is rated the #51 overall prospect by and the #104 overall recruit by

“I think he has the chance to be good,” Keatts said. “He’s a big guard who can score in a variety of ways.”

As a junior last season, Hudson played for Forest Hills High School (Marshville, N.C.). After averaging 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals per game, he earned county player of the year honors for his performance.

Joining Hudson in Tech’s 2007 class is four-star forward Jeff Allen, four-star forward/center Augustus Gilchrist, three-star guard/forward Terrell Bell and three-star guard Malcolm Delaney. All five players are expected to sign with the Hokies next month.

Jeff Allen…

Allen, a 6-7, 240-pound forward, is another player Coach Keatts is very high on.

“Oh, man. Jeff Allen has the chance to be a special player,” Keatts said. “He can score outside. He can score inside. He has a really good knack for putting the ball in the basket.”

Academically, Keatts says Allen is “doing fine.”
