VT In the Mix with Top Oklahoma Prospect

A do-everything player for Millwood (Oklahoma City, OK), four-star prospect Gerald Jones is the starting quarterback and starting strong safety for his team. Not only does he play the entire game (played in about 100 plays in Millwood’s last game), but he gets the job done. After accounting for close to 3,000 yards of total offense last season as a junior, the senior star has accounted for 800 yards of total offense in Millwood’s first three games.

Playmaking ability, athleticism and versatility are reasons why Jones has offers from top Division 1 programs including Virginia Tech.

“He’s a defensive coordinator’s nightmare,” Millwood Head Coach Tony Henry said. “This year, he has thrown the ball a lot better than last year. He had about 900 passing yards total last year, but this year he has 500 in just three games. He’s an unbelievable runner. He’s averaged about 10 yards per carry on about 30 carries this year. Our last game was against McGinness, which I believe may have the best defense in Oklahoma high school football, and he racked up 361 yards.”

Playing on both sides of the ball is something Jones wants to do. He wants to help his team in any way possible.
