6-2, 225-pound defensive end/linebacker recruit Tony Tucker has been contemplating official visit destinations in recent weeks. The St. John’s (Washington, D.C.) standout wants to make at least one official visit during his senior season, with the remaining four – assuming he makes all five allotted official visits – coming after his senior season.
“I think I’m going to take one on October 7th, but I haven’t talked about it as much,” Tucker said, referring to his official visits. “I was going to take one to Georgia Tech on that weekend, but they said that wouldn’t be a good day. I’ll probably go there after the season. Boston College is talking to me about taking one on that date, but I have to keep talking to them about that. Asked if he had any favorites among the schools he mentioned, Tucker, who said he has heard Ohio State may be coming into the picture recently, replied that “Everything is pretty even across the board.”
At this point, without having hosted Tucker on a visit, Tech seems to be in good shape.
“I love it,” Tucker said of Virginia Tech. “The defense they have is a good defense. I’ve been a fan of their defense for quite a bit. I like how the defense flows to the ball. I can just see myself playing there. I have a really good relationship with Coach Wiles. I talk to him quite a bit. Other than that, I just want to get down there to see what Virginia Tech has to offer. I’ve never been there, so I’m excited to see what they’ve got.”
St. John’s is undefeated this season, but it’s first big challenge will come this weekend versus Good Counsel.
“Good. We’re undefeated. We have a real big game this weekend and I can’t wait for it,” Tucker replied when asked how his senior season was going. “The whole state of Maryland is talking about it. I’m pretty excited. We’re very...
