Rated a 4-star prospect by Rivals.com and Scout.com, Hertford County (Ahoskie, N.C.) star Tydreke Powell is one of the top defensive tackle recruits in the country. He has easily received double-digit offers and is in the process of setting official visits. Right now, there are two programs he knows he will officially visit.
“I’m definitely getting my official visits scheduled,” said Powell, who plans on taking all five allotted official visits. “I’ve got two so far right now. I’ve got Miami and Penn State. ”I went there for the spring game and I’m just ready to get back up there,” Powell said. “When I was there I met some great guys. Coach Beamer is a good coach. Coach Wiles is a great guy. And it’s a school that always wins.
“Of all the spring games I went to, the fans were very, very crazy there. It was packed, so I can’t imagine how it’s going to be at a game. I definitely have to get down there for a game to see how they act towards the game if that’s how they act towards the spring game. I definitely...
