TSL has added video clips of 6-7, 255-pound Kellam standout Greg Nosal to his TSL Pass recruiting card. While he played tight end and defensive end for Kellam last season, he is being recruited by Virginia Tech as a tight end/offensive tackle prospect.
A basketball player as well, Nosal proves to be a good athlete for his size. As a tight end in Kellam’s system, he is used primarily as a blocker but does show off some receiving skill in the clips.
Quotes from Kellam head coach Chris DeWitt
“You’re looking at a kid whose potential hasn’t even been touched yet,” DeWitt said of Nosal. “You look at him and you go ‘holy cow’.” To go along with that size is all the little things. He’s a family guy. He’s a teammate guy. He’s an academic guy.”
“I talked to him a lot about the tight end and tackle situation early on, but I actually talked to coach Beamer about what they were going to do,” DeWitt said. “He said if they recruit him as a tight end then that’s where he’ll be until he says otherwise. After the combine, [Greg] kind of looked at the whole picture and thought he was a tackle. I kind of went with that, but I’m going to tell you that some of the things he’s done in passing league this summer that they’re going to give him a good look at tight end. He’s making catches, he’s making plays, he’s reaching back catching balls with one hand and he’s running away from people. He’s doing things that, in our scheme, he doesn’t always get a chance to show he can do.”
