Another talented in-state prospect is set to announce his decision this Wednesday. The decision is down to three schools – Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
The player? Varina standout Davon Morgan .
“He is going to have a press conference on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.,” Varina offensive coordinator Blanda Wolfe said. “It’s down to Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. They’ve all offered.”
The 6-0, 188-pound Morgan will announce his decision at Breakers Restaurant in Midlothian, Virginia.
Morgan played quarterback and free safety for Varina as a junior. On the year, he completed 70-138 passes for 1402 yards, 20 touchdowns and six interceptions. He rushed 75 times for 505 yards and 7 touchdowns. Defensively, he had 9 interceptions.
Morgan was named the 2005 offensive player of the year in his district. He was named to the first-team all-metro defense by the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
He is being recruited by Tech as a defensive back.
