Thomas Jefferson (Jefferson, PA) tight end/defensive end prospect Chris Drager added scholarship offers from Maryland and Pittsburgh to his list this past week, giving him a total of seven official Division 1A scholarship offers. Techsideline.com caught up with the 6-4, 235-pound standout yesterday for comments on his most recent offer (Pitt), his offer from Virginia Tech and to find out when he plans on making a commitment.
Pitt came in with an offer on Saturday following Drager’s impressive performance at their camp.
“I was pretty excited. It’s been a long time, but I’m still happy that they gave it to me,” Drager said. ”Pitt was looking at me for defensive end, but I was working out with tight ends at the Nike camp because that’s where most schools want me to play. They wanted to see me at d-end, so I went to their camp last week and played a little bit of d-end in practice.”

Maryland, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Virginia Tech and West Virginia are the top 1A programs that have offered, and those schools currently make up his top five list.
“Obviously, Pitt, Maryland, Stanford, WVU and Virginia Tech are in my top five,” Drager said. His other offers are from Kent and Temple, respectively. “I don’t want to narrow it down any more yet because I still have to visit two of the schools (Maryland and Stanford). We’ll see how it goes after I take visits to them.”
Drager plans on visiting at least four of the five favorites in the coming month.
“Me and my brother are probably going to go out to Stanford in a few weeks. I think we’re going to go on July 14th or something like that,” Drager said. “Me and my family are probably going to go out to Maryland, too. We’ll take another visit to West Virginia and Virginia Tech as well. I think I might go to Virginia Tech on July 8th.”
Look for a commitment to come before the end of summer.
“I’d like to visit all those...
