C.J. Fleming and Cris Hill are similar in height and weight (5-11, 175 pounds), both are cornerback prospects and both have been offered by some of the same schools. How each player handles his decision making process will likely be different, however, as Fleming may be looking to make an early decision while Hill’s could go into the winter.
At the end of the Evaluation period, Cris Hill added scholarship offers from Michigan and Ohio State…giving him double-digit scholarship offers. He is excited by his two most recent offers, and says he remains “pretty much open” among the programs that have offered.
It doesn’t look like Hill will make a decision before his senior season. But, he could narrow his list of choices.
“I’m not sure right now,” Hill replied when asked if he had a timetable in his decision making process. “After I take all my unofficial visits, I might narrow my schools down.”
Unofficial visits will be a major part of Hill’s narrowing down process. He made one last weekend, when he went to the University of Virginia’s Blue Chip day.
“I was very impressed with the university,” said Hill, who made the trip with his parents who, he says, were “very impressed.” C.J. Fleming made the trip with him as well. “The campus was very beautiful. They showed us around the stadium and the weight room. We toured around the campus and they talked to us a little bit. I got to know the coaches. I spent time with the defensive backs coach. I was the type of person they were looking for and they’d be very pleased if they could get me.
“I pretty much knew it was going to be a very nice college. That was the only expectation I had of Virginia. It was a great experience because it was my first time.”
Hill answered “yeah” when asked if UVa is a school he would strongly consider. He will strongly consider Virginia Tech as well, as he indicated in a previous update that he grew up a Tech fan. He wants to visit Tech and many other programs this summer.
“I want to visit Michigan, Tennessee, Ohio State, West Virginia, N.C. State, Maryland and Virginia Tech,” said Hill, who may visit Blacksburg within the next couple of weeks. Each of these programs have offered.
Most schools are recruiting Hill as a cornerback. He plays cornerback and wide receiver for the Springers.
