5-9, 168-pound D.J. Thomas earned Richmond Times-Dispatch first-team all-metro honors for his junior year performance. He was named to the squad as a utility player, fitting since he plays tailback, defensive back and kick-returner for the Patriots.

Last season, he rushed for 1,318 yards and had 161 yards receiving. On defense, he made nine interceptions. Thomas has terrific acceleration and good speed, making many big plays for Patrick Henry last season.

Thomas has been officially offered by Virginia Tech and is drawing serious interest from Maryland and Virginia.
