Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA) standout offensive lineman Billy Cuffee plans to make his next official visit this weekend. He has already been to UVa and Maryland on officials, has two more scheduled this month and plans to make a fifth as well. What plans are in store for the 6-5, 320-pound recruit?
“I’m going to ECU this weekend, to Virginia Tech on the weekend of the 20th and I’m going to fit N.C. State in there somewhere,” Cuffee said. “I’d say the five I’ve visited or will visit are the ones I’m thinking about the most.”
Cuffee took his official visits to UVa and Maryland last month. Reflecting on those trips, he said “both of them were schools I could see myself at. I enjoyed the team and the coaches. I felt comfortable at both places.”
Of the five schools in serious contention, only UVa and Virginia Tech have yet to officially offer the Chesapeake big man.
“I talked to [UVa] Coach Price the other day, and he said it’s only a minor thing,” Cuffee said. “He said I just need to get my test scores up. I spoke to [VT] Coach Stinespring before their game [against Louisville]. They are saying the same thing.”
Cuffee, who plans on re-taking the SAT this month, is looking to make his college decision around signing day.
“I’m going to hold everybody in suspense,” said Cuffee with a laugh. “I might just sign with the school on signing day and go from there. I’m not sure what I’ll do.”
