4-star tight end recruit Drew Gloster, who received over 20 Division 1A scholarship offers, is ready and anxious for his recruitment to come to a conclusion. The 6-4, 220-pound Good Counsel (Wheaton, MD) star has set December official visits to each of his two finalists and will make a decision following those two trips.
“My plan is to take an official visit to Virginia Tech and an official visit to Maryland,” Gloster said. “Then I’ll just see where I fit in the best. Wherever I feel the most comfortable, where I can get the best education and the place I know I can play early and be an impact player, that’s where I’ll go.”
Virginia Tech has had the edge in Gloster’s recruitment for a long time. Is that still the case?
“Virginia Tech’s still my favorite, but the more and more I think about the situation at Maryland the more I consider Maryland,” Gloster said. “I’ve always liked Virginia Tech. Coach Beamer’s a great coach. They have my majors, like Architecture and Design. Right now, it would be a good place to be. As a freshman, I think I could play early because Jeff King is leaving and they’re looking for someone to come in and compete for playing time.
