5-star wide receiver Vidal Hazelton rated his official visit to Virginia Tech a 10. Hosted by Marcus Vick, the Hargrave Military Academy standout had positive things to say about the entire experience, including the players, coaches and fans.
“The official visit was just crazy,” Hazelton said. “Everything was just fun. Marcus Vick showed me a good time. He’s just a real cool guy. If I had to rate the visit on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d give it a 10.”
The 6-3, 200-pound Hazelton appreciated the straight-forward attitude of the coaching staff.
“The coaches didn’t lie and tell me what I wanted to hear,” Hazelton said. “The players and the coaches gave met the real situation.”
As for the fans…
“The fans were just crazy,” Hazelton said. “That was another part I liked. I’ve been to a lot of places. Some places have a lot of people, but Virginia Tech was just loud (laughs).”
Hazelton says “I don’t have any favorites right now. I want to take all five visits before thinking about that.” His remaining official visits include Tennessee this weekend, USC on the weekend of November 18th and Miami on the weekend of November 25th. The fifth official visit will go to Georgia or Florida.
As for a commitment, Hazelton says he wants to announce his choice at the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. He was recently named an Army All-American.
Hazelton has caught 29 passes for 842 yards and 12 touchdowns for head coach Robert Prunty. Hargrave is 8-2 heading into this week’s match-up versus West Virginia’s JV squad.
