4-star Westlake (Atlanta, GA) linebacker recruit Morrice Richardson said a few weeks ago that a decision could come soon after this past weekend’s official visit to Virginia Tech. Is the 6-2, 230-pound blue-chipper close to a decision now and where do the Hokies stand after a “very good” official visit experience?
“In the near future,” Richardson replied when asked if a decision could come soon. “I’m going for an official visit to Notre Dame [this weekend]. I’m not sure if I’ll go anywhere after that.”
Florida and Georgia Tech round out Richardson’s top four schools. The top competition could be Notre Dame, as he was impressed with the Irish on his unofficial visit for the USC game. What did he think of his Virginia Tech visit?
“The visit was pretty good,” Richardson said. “It was an intense crowd. Both teams were good teams. Virginia Tech fought hard, but it was just Miami’s day.”
Richardson said he spent the most time with Tech freshman free safety Cam Martin, Tech senior cornerback Jimmy Williams and fellow teammate Mario Edwards, who of course was also on an official visit.
“I feel like I got along with everyone just great,” Richardson said of the VT players.
Richardson didn’t name a favorite among Florida, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, but we’ll be sure to check back after his official visit to Notre Dame this weekend. He said Virginia Tech is currently “right along with” the other three finalists.
