The Liberty (Bealeton, VA) 4-star recruit Alex Stadler made his way to Notre Dame on the weekend of September 17th and to Virginia Tech this past weekend for official visits. The top offensive lineman in the state of Virginia, Stadler has one more official visit planned – its for this weekend, to the University of Alabama.

Stadler discussed his first two official visit experiences.

Notre Dame

“It was awesome with the tradition and everything,” Stadler said. “The fans were great. They put up people after touchdowns and push them up in the air, kind of like [Virginia] Tech does. The student section called me up to do it once. About 15 students hoisted me up.”

Did Stadler feel he fit in at Notre Dame?

“I fit in really well,” Stadler said. “Coach Weis and I talked for a good long while. I meshed with the players pretty well. They were kind of down in the dumps after coming all the way back just to lose, but they were cool.”

Virginia Tech

“It was something else,” Stadler said. “Myself, Aaron [Brown] and Jared [Odrick] were allowed to participate in the walk. The game was awesome. It was everything I’d hoped for. I grew up a fan, so it was like being a kid again.”

Asked if he got along well with the players, Stadler replied “The players were cool.”

With his third official visit coming up this weekend, could a decision come soon afterwards?

“I’m not sure,” Stadler replied. “I’m going to Alabama this weekend and that’s all I know for now. When I come back, I’ll evaluate with my coach and my family what I’ve gone through so far and I might pick one of these three schools. If I’m not comfortable or ready to make my decision, I might go on the other two visits. We’ll see.”

Other schools that remain in the mix include Boston College, Florida State, Michigan and N.C. State.

The Season…

Stadler worked hard this off-season and it appears to have paid off.

“Honestly, I feel like a completely better player now,” Stadler said. “I’m staying low, I’m moving well and I’m finishing my blocks. I feel really strong.”

Liberty, led by head coach Tommy Buzzo, is off to a 3-0 start this season.
