6-3, 205-pound Holy Spirit (Absecon, N.J.) star Zach Luckett will make his first official visit this weekend. It may be the most important and, possibly, the only official visit he takes in his recruiting process.
“I’m taking an official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend,” Luckett said.
“It’s a pretty big visit for me. I have a chance to see if I’m comfortable with the situation there. I’ve been leaning towards Virginia Tech, so this visit is important.”
With Virginia Tech being the leader, is there a chance Luckett commits this weekend?
“I don’t think I’ll commit,” Luckett said. “But I’m also not sure about the other visits. My schedule is pretty tied up after this weekend. I’m not even sure if I’ll take any other visits.”
Luckett named three other schools still in the mix. One school, Virginia, seems to have dropped.
“Penn State, Notre Dame and Boston College are other schools I’m also looking at,” Luckett said.
An outstanding athlete, Luckett has the ability to play several different positions on the next level. A tailback in high school, he is being recruited by most schools to play wide receiver.
Holy Spirit defeated Pleasantville last weekend by a score of 20-6. Luckett is still suffering from a sprained ankle in preseason and will have to play with the injury throughout the season.
“No,” Luckett replied. “But I’m going to play through it.”
