Before this past weekend’s official visit to Florida State, Rock Hill (Northwestern, SC) star cornerback recruit Jamie Robinson had stated that he wanted to take official visits to Clemson and Virginia Tech as well before announcing a final decision. Did the Florida State visit change anything?

“I’m still going to take the rest of my visits,” Robinson said. “I’m still not naming a leader until the end.”

Did he think about committing to FSU, his childhood favorite, on the visit?

“I did think about it,” Robinson said. “But I want to take all 3 visits.”

Although he didn’t commit, Robinson did enjoy his official visit experience at Florida State.

“It was nice,” Robinson said of the FSU official visit. “I liked it a lot. What stood out the most was how the players all get along. What also stood out was that the players have a great relationship with the coaches. The coaches said they want me to come in and be a lock down corner for them.”

Robinson’s official visit to Clemson will be this weekend. His visit to Tech will be on the weekend of the 21st. What will he be looking for from both places?

“I’m just going to be looking to see if I like it at both places and see what the relationship is between the coaches and the players,” Robinson said.

Virginia Tech defensive coordinator Bud Foster visited Robinson last Thursday. Robinson said that Foster just “talked about his school. He was telling me what they wanted me to be for them and what he wanted me to do in their defense. They are recruiting me as a cornerback.”

When decision time comes, Robinson says his main criteria will be “how well I get along with with the players and the coaches.” FSU has made a big impression on him in that department, but Clemson and Virginia Tech will each have a chance as well.

Robinson now has official offers from all 3 schools involved. He says that all 3 will honor his scholarship to the end.
