Seneca Valley (Germantown, MD) standout offensive line prospect Jon Walko has whittled his list of schools down to 2 – West Virginia and Virginia Tech. The 6-6, 295-pound prospect made an official visit to West Virginia this past weekend and will go to Virginia Tech this weekend.
“I think it went real well,” Walko said of his West Virginia official visit. “I had a good time. I got to meet and hang with a lot of the guys. I got to see a practice. Overall, I think it went real well.”
Walko will make a decision between the final 2 schools following this weekend’s official visit to Blacksburg. At this point, can he see himself playing at one school more than the other?
“I can actually see myself playing at both places,” Walko said. “Until I get to see Tech on an official visit, I can’t really compare both of them. This weekend should help me see where I fit in the best. Basically, right now it’s a 50/50 draw between West Virginia and Virginia Tech.”
When asked what will put one team over the other, Walko stated that it would “probably be a feeling. I’ve made I don’t know how many lists already. It’ll just be a feeling.”
While Walko knows a decision will come after this weekend’s visit, he’s not sure of the exact timing of a decision.
“It could be before Christmas or it could be after Christmas,” Walko said. “I could tell my family my decision on Christmas Day.”
