Sexton Expects to Decide Soon

Cameron Sexton’s high school career recently came to an end when Scotland County (Laurinburg, NC) fell to Apex 13-12 in the first round of playoffs last Friday. With his senior season complete, what is next for the 6-2, 180-pound signal-caller?

“The next step is committing,” Sexton said. “And that’s going to happen in about 2 weeks. I’m going to look hard at the teams I’ve been focused in on. I’ll call some of those schools and tell them that it won’t happen. That’ll be tough but I have to do it. I’m going to be narrowing down my list and I’ll have a decision in 2 weeks.

“It’s still the same final 5 – Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Clemson, UNC and Florida State. I have not narrowed anything down yet.”

Sexton stated what stands out about each of the remaining 5 schools. He has taken official visits to Clemson and Florida State and has made unofficial trips to UNC, N.C. State and Virginia Tech. He visited Virginia Tech once, which was earlier this summer.
