New Bern (NC) running back prospect Montario Hardesty made his first official visit earlier this month, when he traveled to the University of Nebraska. How did the visit go?
“It was a good one,” Hardesty said. “I liked it. The coaches were great. I like all of the coaches. Their running back coach is only 2 years out of the league. The atmosphere around the campus was good.”
Hardesty has not set any other official visits, but he did name 2 schools he is seriously considering taking officials to. He plans on making most if not all of his official visits.
“Two schools I’ll probably visit for sure are Tennessee and Virginia Tech,” Hardesty said. “I don’t know any other schools. I might go to the [North] Carolina and [N.C.] State unofficially.”
In addition to Nebraska, N.C. State, Tennessee, UNC and Virginia Tech, the 6-0, 195-pound blue chipper is considering Clemson, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Only Ohio State has not offered an official scholarship.
Among the schools he’s considering, Hardesty does not have a favorite.
“No, I don’t have any favorites,” Hardesty said. “I’ve been thinking about it, but not I don’t have a favorite.”
Hardesty will make the rest of his official visits following his senior season. He is being recruited as a running back by most of these schools except for N.C. State, which likes him as an athlete.
“I want to play running back,” Hardesty said.
Hardesty made an unofficial trip to N.C. State last weekend for the Miami game. What did he think?
“It was crazy,” Hardesty said. “It could have been a better game for State, but they made too many mistakes. They were still in the game though.”
