Fans can expect one of the top tailbacks in the country to narrow his list next month. Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC) star Toney Baker , who has taken unofficial visits to North Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech for football games, will make a visit to the University of Virginia next month before cutting his list.

He says he will likely attend the Miami at Virginia game on November 13th.

“It’s the same 5,” Baker said. His top 5 continues to be North Carolina, N.C. State, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech. “I’m not going to make any adjustments until I see Virginia. Since I haven’t been to Virginia, I can’t name any schools ahead of the others. After I go to Virginia, I’m thinking I’ll cut it down to a top 3. My Dad and I are going to sit back and talk about it. After I name a top 3 I’ll focus on that.”

So what will he be looking for on his visit to UVa?

“I want to see the staff in action,” Baker said. “I do think they have an excellent staff already. They call me every week. I just talked to them last week. But I want to see a game and the atmosphere.”

Baker answered whether or not several factors will be major parts of his decision.

First of all, what are the top 2 thing he’s going to consider when narrowing his list to 3?

“The 2 things I’m going to consider are my comfort level with the school and if I’m able to play early,” Baker said. “All of the schools in my top 5 have told me I can go in and compete for a job if I take care of business. I just want to find the best situation for me.”

Does how many running backs a team is recruiting or has landed in this year’s class have an effect?

“To be honest, I don’t care who else they are recruiting,” Baker said of his top 5. “I’m not concerned about it at all.”

Will a team’s season have an effect on his decision?

“Of course I want to be able to win football games, but that’s not a big factor in my decision,” Baker said. “It’s a factor to an extent because I want to go somewhere I can compete and go to bowl games and things like that, but it’s not a big factor. I mainly want to go somewhere stable. I don’t want to worry about the coaching staff not being there. I don’t want to go somewhere where the coaching staff is going to leave in a year or so and I’d have to learn a whole new system. I’m not trying to go through that situation.”
