Parkland (NC) safety prospect Antonio Wardlow lists 6 schools still under consideration, but says that 3 schools are pulling away from the rest in his recruiting race.
“Actually, Tennessee, South Carolina and Virginia Tech are my top 3,” Wardlow said. “Virginia Tech and South Carolina separated themselves from the feeling I got from talking to the coaches. Tennessee separated from the rest when I took an unofficial visit there for the Florida/Tennessee game.
“I’m also looking at Clemson, UNC, N.C. State and that’s about it.”
Among his top 3, one school has taken the lead over the others.
“Tennessee has the edge over Virginia Tech and South Carolina,” Wardlow said. “There was a lot of people up there. The fans were great.”
Before making a decision, Wardlow wants to make official visits.
“I’ll probably take 3 or 4,” Wardlow said, referring to official visits. “I don’t have anything set yet. I’m not sure when I’ll decide. I’m going to take my time.”
The 6-1, 175-pound Wardlow is an athletic safety/wide receiver for Parkland High School. He is being recruited by Virginia Tech as a safety.
In 2004, he has helped Parkland to a 4-3 record.
