Mammoth 6-6, 320-pound offensive tackle prospect Curtis Crouch hopes to narrow his list of schools to 5 before setting official visits. E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC) Head Coach Milton Butts listed the schools under consideration at this point in the recruiting process.

“N.C. State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Clemson, East Carolina and we’re waiting to hear from Miami,” Butts said.

Of those schools being considered, Butts knows 4 that will likely get serious consideration for official visits. Virginia Tech is included in that group.

“I know N.C. State’s been up there,” Butts said. “But he’s been up there so many times I don’t know if he’d take an official visit there. He wants to go out to Oklahoma. I think Virginia Tech would be one. If Miami offers, then they would probably be one. Those are the ones I know of, but of course kids change their minds.”

Butts believes his star could make a few official visits this Fall and take the rest following their season. In the meantime, Crouch is playing very well, as Coach Butts says “he has stepped it up this year.”

Crouch has also “stepped it up” academically, as he’s moving towards earning qualification status.

“Summer school went real good,” Butts said. “He’s working on continuing that right now. He needs to do well this semester and next semester. If he continues what he did in summer school, then he should be OK. He takes the test for the first time in October too.”
